I have to be very careful when choosing fragrances because I get migraines from some of them. Either that or Ed gets headaches. Since I was 18, I have almost always worn Chanel 5. It is moderately priced. There is one fragrance that I keep around that I hate when I first put on. After about 2 hours it smells pretty good, so I guess my chemicals like it. There are cheaper perfumes that I am smittened with: Japanese Cherry Blossom and Moonlight Path by Bath and Body Works. I found an advertisement on ebay that sent out 12 samplers of Bath and Body Perfume and what a great time I had sniffing them all. Kid in a candy shop.
